Duties and Responsibilities: 1. lead and coordinate the project team in the field in order to successfully implement different components of the project according to the scope of work and the work schedule;2. maintain necessary administrative and financial management in the office with the support of different staff of the project team; 3. prepare work plan in consultation of all field staff and review it on regular basis in the process of guiding and monitoring the progress of project work in the field; 4. remain responsible for coordinating activities related to planning, designing, implementation, supervision, monitoring and evaluation of upgrading project; 5. support, supervise and provide necessary guidelines to different components of project like: community mobilization, training/workshop and capacity building, technical and engineering, reporting and monitoring and so on; 6. coordinate with field staff and visit facilitating partners (FP) on regular basis to ensure better understanding of local problems and effective supervision and monitoring of progress of activities; 7. conduct regular (weekly) staff meeting to review the progress of project and also constraints and their solutions. Practice consultative project management approach while implementing project; 8. take proactive measures and liaise with municipality, MUD, DORR, and other key stakeholders in the process of implementing project activities in the partner CDCs; 9. work as a member secretary of Jalalabad Municipal Steering Committee and ensure all parties’ active involvement in the decision making and also implementation process of the project; 10. put extra effort and provide necessary support for enhanced role, active involvement and therefore empowerment of women's CDCs in all selected neighbourhoods of the project. Qualifications required: 1. University graduate preferably masters degree in urban and regional planning with minimum 10 years of work experience, focusing on community development and organization, income generating activities and some knowledge of WID and gender issues are asset; 2. International technical cooperation activities or international consulting firms (including UN and/or NGOs); 3. Substantial experience in project management, administration, finance and logistics; 4. Substantial knowledge and experience of working with local communities in planning, designing, costing and estimating infrastructure and services related projects at neighbourhood level; 5. Experience and knowledge of formation of Community Development Councils, and Community Action Plans and their role in upgrading of informal settlements; Computer Skills: Excellent computer skills including MS Office, Email and Internet with some knowledge of GIS is an asset, and preparing project presentation materials with PowerPoint.
